We’ll all be known for something. Maybe our desire isn’t literal fame, but it can often be success, likeability, or acceptance. Are we living in a way that promotes and protects our kingdom or God’s kingdom? Our purpose or God’s purpose? A good life is one that answers a call from God no matter how unpopular it makes us.
The Good Life: Week 3 - Gratification v Holiness
It is easy to think a “good life” is achieved through our own gratification. Being filled and satisfied with desirable luxuries (abundance of food, comfort, travel, entertainment). The Bible doesn’t say God wants our happiness; He invites us to holiness. Through holiness and living a Godly life, naturally we will be satisfied beyond only happiness.
The Good Life: Week 2 - Wealth v Generosity
We will never be generous until we realize we have nothing. It’s not ours anyway.
The Good Life: Week 1 - Production vs Peace
Sometimes God gives us a clear next step and calls us to act. Other times, our need to “figure it all out” steals our peace. Instead of relying on God, we default to striving, hustling, and people-pleasing, asking what builds our kingdom rather than God’s. But what if we paused to pray and seek wise counsel? It may feel counterintuitive to let go of constant productivity, yet the more we say yes to God’s ways, the more peace we find, even when we produce less. In Jesus, we find abundant life.
